Personal project carried out by my initiative
Path of Exile is an RPG set in a dark fantasy universe. It’s a game I play a lot, and I think it needs a bit of an interface refresh.
I. LAUNCHER
My challenge with this interface was to make it more conversational and a little more modern. The patch notes take up the entire width of the launcher and hide the game’s logo in the background. What’s more, they blend in with the background, making them difficult to read.
CURRENT LAUNCHER (2023)
MY PROPOSITION
Here’s the version of the launcher I’m proposing. I’ve decided to use an image that takes up a little more than half of the launcher to really highlight the game’s identity. This part can also be used to announce the game’s new seasons (leagues).
Next, I wanted to remove the progress bar once the download is complete, to create a little space to avoid overloading the interface.
BUTTONS
Finally, I totally modified the « Launch » and « Language » buttons, magnifying them and making them visible using white so that the user can see them straight away when the launcher appears.

COLORS
Finally, I decided to use two other colors instead of brown. These are colors I picked up from the game’s logo.

The gold echoes the gold metal of the logo, adding a little sparkle for contrast.
II. LOGIN SCREEN
I’ve also decided to refresh the login screen interface. Indeed, this interface is very nice, but it lacks a bit of modernity.

MY PROPOSITION
To begin with, I decided to move the entire login window to a corner on the right, playing with opacity to get a better view of the game’s background.
Finally, I decided to set the « News » aside so as to integrate a carousel for scrolling through news items. I find this very practical for users and more dynamic.
